It's beautiful! I really like the part of her jacket that's draping over the side and the fish design on her kimono's so neat! Grrr...watercolors have always been evil to me... any tips on mixing good skin tones?

The sky is so light and 'spring'-like ~////~ whimsical even. ;w;

I love it :heart:

Thanks~! I have yet to build darker tones, but hopefully I'll be able to hack away at it this weekend~ @_@!

I think watercolors are the most "forgiving" of paints and the variations in color and tone are all part of what makes watercolors so pretty. ^^

For skin tones, I often use warm tones like oranges, reds, and yellows and mix them with a lot of water, The color on the palette may look super dark and orangey, but when watered down and applied to the paper (and sponged away the excess with a paper towel...), you can get a really nice, light peachy skin tone. Around the eyes, I add a little more red. For shadows, I add a very tiny touch of blue to dull the color.

Always make sure that your brush is loaded with water and paper is damp, otherwise you get streaks everywhere. X_X;

They do, don't they? I'm never quite sure which catagory fits best. ^^
